Health and Safety
YWCA has long advocated for the health and safety of women and girls. As the largest network of domestic violence service providers in the country, we remain committed to supporting survivors and reducing violence against women and girls. Annually, more than 900,000 women and families participate in YWCA health and safety programs and services — from domestic violence and sexual assault services to aquatics and fitness programs, health resources and referrals.
Women are the glue that hold families and communities together and it is vital that they are armed with tools and resources to take care of themselves.
Our Women’s Health and Safety program provides
- self-defense classes and wellness seminars offered through our YWCARES program.
- Pre-natal and Parenting classes offered through our Moms-R-Us program.
- Opportunities for physical exercise and health are provided to all children in our Childcare program.
