Free Afterschool STEM Enrichment
The YWCA TechGYRLS afterschool program is a unique girls-only environment, serving girls in 3rd-8th grade within the Bristol Tennessee City School System (BTCS) who benefit from extra support beyond the school setting. TechGYRLS are provided transportation to and from the YWCA, homework assistance, nutritional snacks, mentoring, community service opportunities, social-emotional learning, and many STEAM-based activities throughout the year.
Our program has been specifically designed to help participants develop confidence in all realms, including technology and self-esteem, and to inspire them to consider future careers in science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
TechGYRLS is free of charge, and participatns are selected for the program based on recommendations from school personnel. If you know a female BTCS student in 3rd-8th grade that may benefit from this program, please reach out to the student’s school counselor or email techgyrls@ywcatnva.org.
