Immediate Job Opening

Afterschool Educational Assistant – Students 8 years to 13 years of age.

Description - The Afterschool Educational Assistant is responsible for assisting in the planning and implementing of a successful afterschool STEAM based empowerment program for girls. Individuals will work in accordance with the policies and mission of the YWCA and the Department of Education providing direct interaction and supervision of participants.

Location – YWCA NETN and SWVA, 106 State Street, Bristol, TN

Schedule – This position can potentially be hired as a full or part time position. Part time positions have limited benefits, scheduled 20-25 hours per week. Potential work hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend training sessions or field trips may be required. Full time hours and schedules will vary.

Education/Experience – Qualified applicants must be a minimum of 21 years of age and possess an Associate Degree in a related field or equivalent experience working with elementary or middle school youth 4th through 8th grade.  Individuals must possess or be willing to obtain upon hire: CPR and First Aid Certification as well as F endorsement driver’s license.

Victim Advocate

Description –Advocates provide direct services to victims on a case by case basis and as appropriate. Services may include providing information, emotional support, identifying and connecting the individual to additional resources and assisting them in completing all necessary paperwork as well as attending Court, medical appointments, or interviews with victims. This position will be required to staff crisis hotlines, lead support groups, or provide in-person coaching when needed. The Advocate will work closely with organizations such as Criminal Justice or Social Services agencies. This advocate position will focus on creating and implementing holistic self-care programs to support and empower young adult victims of crime, participate in the coordination, daily operations and service implementation and delivery of the Emerging Adult Victim Advocacy program.

Location –Sullivan County, Tennessee

Education/Experience – Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Education, Psychology or related field. Master’s Degree preferred. Two (2) years experience creating and managing health and wellness programs. Two (2) years working with individuals in health and wellness roles. Advocate will be required to complete significant additional ongoing training on the specific knowledge and skills required to be an advocate. Bilingual (Spanish speaking, highly desired)

YWCA Children’s Center

Lead Educator

The Lead Educator is responsible for ensuring the physical, mental, emotional and social well-being of the children in their care. The individual is expected to maintain age appropriate classroom environment, lesson plans and activities that meet State of Tennessee Licensure Rules and Star Quality standards.

Schedule – This is a full time position with benefits, scheduled 40 hours per week. Potential work hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend training sessions may be required.

Education/Experience – Qualified applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent. CDA or Degree in related field and two (2) years of childcare experience in a licensed center preferred.
