YWCA Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia will host their  43rd Annual Women’s Turkey Trot 5K on Saturday, November 18.

This race is a part of the YWCA promotion of women’s health and safety, and is one of the longest running women only races in the region. In 2023, women’s health is more important than ever. Staying active and doing so safely can help contribute to your mental health and well-being during these times of high stress. In fact, during times of lockdown it was reported that more than half of adults (60%) and over two-thirds of young people (68%) said their mental health deteriorated. YWCA is promoting physical activity in order to boost the immune system, prevent weight gain, reduce stress and anxiety as well as improve mood and sleep.
No one is too young or too old to take part in this race, and leashed pets and strollers are welcome. Participants have the option to run or walk a USTAF certified route through historic Bristol, Tennessee starting near the iconic Bristol Sign and ending at YWCA's building. Start a new family tradition by participating in the YWCA Turkey Trot. Men can register for the race and receive a race day tee shirt, but they are not eligible to win a race category.

Cost of preregistration is $30, and $35 on race day. Register at

The YWCA Turkey Trot 5K is only one component of the YWCA's health and safety initiative. As a part of our mission to encourage health and wellness, YWCA hosts self-defense classes, and provides physical activity in our childcare center and in our TechGYRLS program. We also host several volleyball leagues and clinics.

All participants will receive a unique race t-shirt.
