BRISTOL- King University's Faith and Culture has postponed Natasha Sistrunk Robinson's talk from tomorrow night until Tuesday Feb 1 at 7 pm at Lee Street Baptist Church.

Candlelight Service to precede at 6:30 pm on Feb 1

Natasha Sistrunk Robinson will also speak at King University Chapel on Wednesday, Feb 2 at 9 a.m.

This year, some of the activities will be virtual and some in-person. We hope that many individuals will be able to come together with one voice in a manner that is still safe.

Bristol and Abingdon will share the same theme this year, “Even in These Trying Times, I Still Have a Dream?”  inspired by Dr. King’s prophetic "I Have a Dream" speech given on Aug. 28, 1963, as part of the March on Washington. D.C.. In which he said,

“So even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

The YWCA of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia will be participating in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service by honoring early-childhood educators in our region. The YWCA is encouraging other organizations to honor Dr. King by participating in the federal day of service in their community.
